Beat me up

I finally figured who your vox sound like - there was a bloke in the late 80's down under called Will Shakespear (yeah, I know) who had a couple of pop hit - dressed up ER1 style too. He had a similar voice. His last single was My Little Angel.
This is nice - the solo isn't really dady's little girl style though - she may be a metal head though!
The chugga guitars remind me of someone - maybe you!
Thanks, man!

I gave your stuff a listen a bit ago...

The rhythym guitars sound great (chunka chunka). I also like most of the vocal harmonies. The main solo guitar could use a bit of wetness maybe to find a comfy place in there. Cool song, sounds 80's-ish, which I like.

d-oh!!!!

I just looked at the session, and I don't have anything on that track at all... :o

Not bad dude. I think the vox are little too wet sounding. It kind of sounds like you're way off the mic in a reflective room. The lead is definitely too dry and sitting on top of the mix. Good 80's rock sound to the song though. I'm a huge DK fan, and I don't think you sound like Jello Biafra. :D

This coming from the guy who did a cover of Too Drunk To F*ck!!!

Thanks for the listen. I am still messing with the vocal because I hate my voice. I am still trying to get comfortable with a singing style and not even sure what I want.

That's cool, keep working with it. I'll get on our project next week.

Oh, I did "Police Truck" too. :D

Cool, I can't wait to put that one to bed too....

Police Truck... I don't remember you posting that one...

It's in here somewhere.

I'll send you a test-run next week of the other one.

Yeah I agree with the wetness on some vocal spots....keep them more like the main part as that sits better in the mix.

Good bass tone...I like when a few notes pop out as the guitars hold a chord....

Best mix so far of this....:D

And the last one! :D

I ain't messing with anything else I have now. I am moving on to other projects.

I have one more old song that is being redone. Most of you won't recognize it until the vocals start.

After that, it's all new stuff. Hopefully by then, I'll know what my voice is all about.

I've heard several versions-this song is sounding better all the time. Just some timing issues with aligning parts-man, I'm terrible trying to do that as well-it's damned tricky~
Keep at it Eddie!:)

I had listened to an earlier mix late one evening and didn't realize the post was updated since then-I just re-listened to the song and everything is cool.

I'm just too drunk to f*ck....

I don't think you sound like Jello Biafra. :D

Things are going real nice. I will be home until the 27th. Of course I get here and find out my studio (if that's what you want to call my motley collection of gear) has been packed away because the basement is flooded...

Axl Rose? I never would have made that connection...:cool:;)

Hey,

I somehow missed this one...sounds like you've settled on the mix from the one remaining link, so I won't get too crazy with suggestions.

You have a cool Ozzy-like whine going on at times here. Kinda pitchy maybe, but not nearly as advertised in your self-deprecating post. Rhythm guitars are well played and recorded. Sounds like you added verb or something to the lead in repsonse to some of the feedback in this thread, 'cause it doesn't sound too dry to me.

A fun listen...thanks for sharing!

Hey Rokket!!...I remember this one. I had the first one you posted I thought, but couldn't find it for comparison. I can picture *daddy's little girl* rockin' down to it...one of these days she'll be laying down vocals for you on a CD(called "Daddy's Girl":D...and some keyboard...does she still play on that? She's gonna treasure this song all the days of her life...she'll most likely want you to perform it at her wedding reception.

I like the opening "it's okay, daddys here..daddy's got ya" line...then the chikchikchikchik ryhthm guit with the bumbumbumbum of bass all intertwined so that it sounds like one colossal instrument...it keep's the song in rockin' motion.

I'd like to hear the drums up a bit more...the snare hits in particular.

The lead has some awesome sounding highs and it's tone lends a balance to the tone of your voice in an offset way...whatever that means...anyway they fit...I like the feedback in several parts, but don't like it in others.

Your voice is strangely addictive...;)

Your skills are getting better all the time Rokket!

Cool to hear you are still at home enjoying the family time. Speaking of motley collections, my eclectic menagerie of gear is about as motley as they come...Music Jesters everywhere fight over it...:D
