Group Buy Payment Deadline

I just started a new thread where I stated the deadline for payment of this group buy... Here's the link to that: Group Buy Payment Deadline Thread

I'll copy/paste the contents of that first post here as well...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All:

The deadline for group buy payment has been set. This time I won't be publishing and fancy countdown clocks..etc, to remind anyone, so mark your calendars, set your clocks...etc.

GROUP BUY PAYMENT DEADLINE IS:

Friday, May 16, 2008 - 11:59:59 PM - EDT.

To avoid any confusion:
One second before Mid-Night (EDT), the night of May 16, 2008, payments for this group buy will end.

There will be a mass email that will go out tomorow (Friday, May 8, 2008) stating/confirming this deadline time as well... Chance wanted to hold off on the mass email because there were a few other items that he wanted to include in it, but didn't have time to write them up tonight.

Thanks in advance,

Randy

Randy, a nice peace of music you´ve recorded!
Maybe a tad lacking the lowest frq´s and would like to
hear it in stereo

Matti

Hi Matti,

I noticed that when I imported the song into my mastering session that the lows were rolled off too much... But it was late in the night and I didn't go back into the mix and work with it... but I will later, probably over the weekend.

At first I didn't know what you meant by "would like to hear it in stereo"... Then it struck me that when I created the MP3 from the WAV file, that I had my encoder was set to mono!

I've re-saved this MP3 as stereo and re-uploaded it...

Thanks for pointing that out!

Good balance overall but I miss some istruments to go
under er.. 100 hz.
And the vocal is ok - as for the mic used, and he sings good

-my impressions with these monitors and a plugin witch
showed me a healthy overall curve but lack of bass
to confirm my first "vision" ( my english is limited )

Yes. I rolled the bass off to much on mixdown... I'll add it back later this weekend and post another version for you to hear... I'll be sure to tell the singer that you think he sounds good!

Thanks!

Randy

He does!
Choose the bass or the bass drum to drive the lowest
frq´s or cleverly both ?

Best

I'm not sure how I'll handle that...

I mix and master on 2 seperate setups, with different monitors...and sometimes I have a hard time relating between the 2 with bass frequencies... Sometimes when the bass seems about right to my ear in mixing, it's too much, or sometimes too little on the mastering setup... But I trust the mastering setup more...and usually mix according to what I've heard once it gets to that point..

Yeah, I'll be seeing this singer again tonight... This band will be practicing tonight and I'm dropping in... I'll pass the compliment along to him... This isn't a professional band or anything, just a group of guys that I know that got together and started a garage band... This particular lead singer that you're hearing, is in his early 60's in age too... :)

Randy

My compliments etc... ;)

If you choose to do something over again
transpose something octave down or so,
you know what I mean.

Or in this recording find colours from the bas drum
and the basist by eq´ing them out of this kind of uniform picture
( If you have them recorded accordingly )

Matti

Funny you should mention that. I just sent samples to the manufacturer. I want to see if they can do a "burnt orange anodize". It's a very dark orange, almost brown/bronze where the brushed aluminum shows thru. It has a real touch of class.

EXCELLENT!! that sounds like it could look great! I think any ANODIZE finish will look better than paint. But this would be my choice! hope it looks nice!

Chance mentioned in the last email that some have stripped off the gold plating on the grill of their 6802. I have long wanted to do that with my MXL V67G--does anyone know the best way to do this?

After that, I can strip the green paint off it and paint it black...

You might try muratic acid like used for swimming pools.Years ago when I would blow a rod on a mororcycle, the rod was aluminum and part of it got (because of running low on oil) welded to the the crank and the crank was steel. I would soak the crank in the myratic acid and it would eat off all the aluminum and leave the steel crank clean

I'm assuming the gold coating is just paint or something similar. If it is actual gold, only very specific combinations of acids will dissolve it. You're looking at aqua regia or similar. Gold doesn't react much at all. It's really remarkably hard to remove without destroying the metal under it. If it is real electroplated gold, you might be better off electroplating the gold with a layer of silver instead. :D

Virtual Check?

How long does it take before the virtual check pulls the money out of my checking? Thanks

Every night, at mid-night EDT, I do a "batch out" of all of the day's transactions. At that time, an ACH for the funds is put into motion. It is typically 1-3 business days before the money actually show up in Chance's account, but it will leave your account within a few minutes - few hours after the batch out of the day, at mid-night, EDT.

What! It's not real gold?

Just kidding. I'd be interested to know how people have been getting the gold off the 6802, so I can match it with a new non-gold 6802. Although, the color is probably the least of my worries for using these 6802s from two different GBs as a stereo pair.

Also, If anybody is interested in hearing another track with the 6802t on vocals, I just put up another track of me singing with it on my facebook page (I don't think you have to be signed in to facebook to see it though).

the song that uses the 6802 is called "Lorenzo." Wrote it myself (and it's ok if it's not you're style). The mix is a little rough still...I'm still learning.

I think gold would be eaten up by mercury.

Well, only a few days left and this group buy will be closed for this year. Our quotas have been met and the order will be placed next week. In the future we might try something a little different, if not, we'll do another group buy (#5) next year.

Is TCM gonna become like a regular company?

I just paid for items but got an error message... "duplicate trans".
I only punched the button once, is there any way of someone checking whether it went through or not?
