Can anyone get me some plans for a vocal booth w/ or w/out diagrams. anyone got any with ventilation ducts? just wonderin.

Acoustic tiles do wonders for the sound... as does egg-crate style foam...

so you want a soundproof vocal booth?

about 2-3metres by 2-3metres?

You don't want foam, tiles, or blankets. The best absorbtion is with covered semi-rigid fiberglass.

Now what sort of a vocal booth are you looking for? Do you want isolation or absorbtion? full construction, freestanding, or temporary panels?

does that sound booth work really well????

It looks pretty versatile and easy to set up. I was thinking of mounting a couple 703 panels on cheap mic stands using a PA speaker bracket on the top of the mic stands. so that I can move them around. The only problem, is building them so that you can put them close enough so that the panels touch but the tri-pod legs dont get caught up on each other.

what did all of the materials for that PVC set up cost you?? Thanks.

It looks like a cheap and working vocal booth. I'm still finding a way to build a cheap vocal booth...

I don't even have a tracking room.

Good lucks.

 How would I show a plan without a diagram? Hmmmmm.... And what do you mean... "get" them? Get off your ass and "get" them yourself  Ya got two legs and a keyboard. Shhheeeezus. :D BTW...theres a fucking search button...I drew them myself. Fuck.

Define.."work really well"? In what way...Knock down? Absorption coeffecint? Isolation? The door latch? ?Doesn't fall through the second floor? Available in any dumpster? Can get it through the front door? No standing waves at 2hz? Won't burn you to death because the latch wouldn't open? Oh, I forgot, can you breath after 2 minutes? Hmmmm, damn light went out? Oh, I didn't see the switch? But my sister can hear me in the next room...really well?

Has anyone else noticed that it took 3 years to reply to post #2? :P

(I know, me bumping this thread doesn't really help either. -_-)

i wonder if he ever finished that vocal booth, i want pictures!!! AND samples

:)

I just posted some plans and step-byspet guide i made, over at the portable vocal booth thread. This is for a booth to isolate from neighbours. For good isolation within your room, you will need a two leaf(MAM) structure.

Has anyone read "Home Recording Studio Construction" by Gervais & Rodney?

Is it applicable to this kind of consruction or is it a little too in depth and less budget studio orrientated?

Excuse me???? What part of ...."Home Recording Studio Construction" did you miss? Let me put it this way. When you want to take a shit, and a sign says "restroom", do you ask someone if it really means what it says? good grief....

I think that was a bit harsh. It's not like he asked what the book was about. He asked a specific question about the book. Have you read the book? If you haven't I think it would be best to not comment on it. If you have I think that you could have been more helpful in your response.
