What is this high pitch sound that I emit ??

First of all, I KNOW this is super random xDD
Also, Im not sure if this actually has anything to do with vocals .
But yeh...
I've had this weird talent for a while now.
i dont remember how or when I learned it.

I can make this super high pitch sound with my throat.
So it's coming from my vocal chords (its not like a mouth/lip whistle ).
It sounds almost exactly like a dog's whimper ?

Sorry if the volume's soft.
But it's quite loud when I do it in real life (not as loud as an actual whistle ).
And people are baffled when I show them .
Sometimes I do it as a prank and people get confused where the sound is coming from xD

Is it some type of undeveloped whistle register or something?

It's a neat trick . . . a bit like Tibetan throat music in principle. I reckon you have maybe a combination of a couple of things; some kind of unusualness about your vocaL chords, and saome wqay of making use of that.

I've made not dissimilar sounds in the past, but never deliberately - generally after a cold. And I've heard people recovering from laryngitis go all squeaky way up that high too.

Next time you're at the doctor, get him/her to have a look down your throat...

I'm afraid I don't see a practical application, although possibly mother birds might want to regurgitate food down your throat... If you're into that sort of thing, that is...

But I dont think it is (laryngitis ) ? I had this for a long time (hence not remembering when I discovered it lmaoo) .
I dont even sing/ talk that much too xD
