Hi,

I just bought my first recording kit, AT2035, focusrite 2i2, ath-m50.

I would like to record my acoustic and vocal for fun in a room of 10 ft by 10 ft. (Size of a bedroom...)
I was wondering if I need any acoustic panels. I was looking at the roominator D36 (purple) it looks design and modern, but do I really need acoustic panels?

Will my sound become to deaf if I install that kind of panels? Some suggested toblerone type panels in a checker setup... but I honestly know nothing about sound panels.

You help is really appreciated,
Thanks!

Before you worry about treating an entire room, look into one of the $100-200 microphone shields (I've got the Auralex one). They do a great job and killing most basic room noise and are very cost effective!

Hello! I would recommend checking out our Acoustics Primer located here: Room Acoustics Primer - GIK Acoustics

We've got a lot of general info from setting up a room, positioning monitors, acoustic myths, and the like in there. Let me know if you have any specific questions to anything written in there and I will be happy to answer your questions!
