Do these provide decent isolation? I've read about some 8" double sliding doors with STC in the 60s. Sounds too good to be true.

This company is for real. They have independent testing results.
The bottom line is the quality of installation. This is very important. If not installed per manufacturer's specs or recommendations - all bets are off.

Livingston Studios has these in the main room and they really work. There have been some bloody good records made their too. They aren't completely sound proof, but nothing would be. Great visibility tho... livingstonstudios.co.uk/images/gallery/04.jpg
