Using guitar strum loops...connecting and chord progressions

I have some guitar strum loops and fingerpicking loops that came with sequencer and the majority of them include chord progressions. What are the chances your song will have the exact
sequence of chords in the loop? Little to none. I would like one 4/4 measure of a strum that
you can copy and easily change the chord so you can make your own progression
with a variety of strums and fingerpicks to match the songs your writing. I would like a variety
of one measure strums with different patterns. The one measure strums I have
do not seem to connect well from measure to measure--especially when you want
to change the chord say from a D major to G major. At first I thought this would
be a simple thing to do, copy a guitar strum loop from measure to measure and
compose a SMOOTH WELL CONNECTED chord progression. Maybe it is easy for some, and I'm hoping to get some advice on how you all do it. I have Cubase 7, Mixcraft 6.

Thanks,

Vandy

With audio loops, you are supposed to build the chord prog using the loops then work from the ground up. Assuming you can't play guitar, there are many ways to get fast results with Cubase's new Chord Track if you aren't opposed to using VSTi's for the guitar.
