Red5 Audio microphones

I've just spent the weekend on a recording session with a 62 piece wind band. It was a superb recording hall with an adjoining fully equipped, professional recording studio which could see into the recording hall through a large soundproofed window.

Being a home recordist myself I was very interested in how the place was miked up and what mikes were being used. I recognised many of the mikes, but several of the ones in use were new to me so I took a closer look. They were badged as the RED5 AUDIO RV6 and when I Googled it I was astonished to find that it's a large diaphragm condenser costing just £57, including a sturdy carry case, pop cover and shock mount. I talked myself into the recording studio and asked the recording engineer about the RV6s. He rated them as good as many of the top name mikes and better than most others, and said they were the best value for money LDC out there.

So has anyone else come across these mikes, and if so what's your opinion of them.
