Recording instruments at once

ok i have this program called Magix Studio 7 www.magix.com and ive been playing everything seprately and mixing it together, today i was thinking if i bought a 6 ch mixer for 60 dollars could i have 6 of those mixer chanels going into my magix studio with one outlit? i have a 16 bit sound card, would that work?

You can mix the 6 channels together (in the mixer) and record them as stereo with the sound card, but they will only be two tracks (left and right) once in the computer.

to do what you want to do, you would need a Sound card that alowed you to record x-amount of tracks that one time, and the software that works with it. look around in the computer section and you should find something.

You gotta have a soundcard with a minimum of 1 channel PER INSTRUMENT you wish to record.

No other way to do it.
