D dead New member Aug 20, 2005 #1 how do you record each drum piece (kick, snare, toms, cymbals) onto their own track?
D drpfeffer New member Aug 20, 2005 #2 not sure i'm getting what u are looking for.. but if you have a seperate mic with a preamp for each drum and record each mic thru a soundcard/audiointerface onto seperate tracks in your sequenser software you should be there..

Basically you'll need 8 mics if you want to do it this way 1.Kick 2.Snare Top 3.Snare Bottom 4/5/6.Toms 7/8.Overheads. There for on your mixer you'd need atleast eight channels in and than eight buss outs on the mixer. e.g mackie 24/8, behringer mx9000/MX3282A etc. I'm not too sure about digital boards thou. I know ones like the Tascam 2488 24, Yamaha AW16G, Behringer DDX3216 can do eight simultaneous tracks. Or you can go straight into a PreSonus FIREPOD. I'm sure they are many other options but thats all i can think of, on the top of my head. Good luck.
