i need some help on what to buy

i want to get a multi track studio for hip hop but i dont know what the hell to get. i have some stuff together i got from zzounds but i dont want to buy it and have something completly different then i want. please resond
 
Are you just recording yourself solo or will you be recording multiple musicians? How much do you have to spend both long-term and short-term? Do you currently own a computer capable of handling digital audio? Are you looking for a high-end professional system or just a rudimentary home setup for fun or songwritting purposes? What instruments (if any) do you play?
