capturing an acoustic duo using one mic?

Hello,
Me and my friend are getting together as an acoustic guitar blues duo and want to record some of our songs. I thought it would be authentic to record us they way the early blues men and women were recorded- one microphone in the middle of the room. Can anyone give me any tips on this like distance from mic, room preparations, position of mic and what directional mode to set it to etc. I was going to use a Studio Projects B-3 condenser in omni mode- what do you think?

Thanks,
Bluesmouse

A lot of the old stuff was done with figure 8 ribbon mics (RCA's 44's or 77's).

:) I use a condenser mic with a figure 8 pattern when I do that type of recording.
A semi lively room, not too big, don't know how sensitive the B-3 is. You may have to exxperiment on this, I would have a third party help with the process.
