Xenyx 802 with MXL 900 Pre-amp Question

I'm just starting out with a Behringer Xenyx 802 and I ordered a MXL 990 condensor microphone to go with it. I was reading the specs on the mic and it says it has a built in FET pre-amp, the specs on the 802 mixing board say it also has a mic pre amp built into the XLR balanced inputs where I'm going to plug the mic into.
Is this a problem? Two pre amps on one device? Thx.

p.s. Title should read 990 not 900

You'll be fine, just plug the microphone in via XLR and be sure to have the phantom power on.
FET = field effect transistor.

:cool:

No, it's no problem. Condensers normally have some preamp circuitry, but it's not enough to bring it to full line level so you still need the mic preamp in the mixer, plus the phantom power from the mixer preamp powers the circuitry in the mic.
