Studios....

I know this is'nt considered home recording but I still have no idea on it. I was wondering how much studios are to use.What is a good deal,how much time does it take to record a song,how much should I have before looking to rent one, and any other usefull info.

I do a rap style music that uses samples and beat machines,I don't know if that would be a factor in anything.

It is by hour + costs of media, usually. I've seen anything from $25/hr to, like, $1500/hr. Some places will throw in the engineer with costs, while others will have an additional cost for one. Same goes for production. You need to call around where you live to find out. Most will be happy to let you listen to examples of their work, so you can balance cost with quality.

Bvaleria, John Sayers, and Sonusman (among many more...I'm not listing EVERYONE!) run nice studios, do a search and look at their posts about such things.
