MultiMix 8 Firewire questions.

What all do I need for the MultiMix 8 Firewire to work on my computer? (ie, what type of sound card)

1) I have Vista 32 bit
2) I have a stock installed RealTek soundcard

If I purchase the MultiMix 8 Firewire, how will I know it will work on my computer?

I've heard a lot of complaints from people saying they were not able to get get the MultiMix 8 to work. Is all I have to do is set default playback/recording to the MultiMix and start recording, or would I have to change tons of settings. I just want to plug it in and record and playback.
 
Firewire is an input like USB. That's what you need to have. You more than likely do, just look in your hardware setup for a 1394 Interface. The input will be in the back of your computer.
