Lexicon Omega + Macbook connection problem!

hello

i need some help here, when i connect my Lexicon omega to my macbook running snow leopard 10.6.2. it shows up as "lexicon omega DEMO" instead of "lexicon Omega USB" this leads it to be totally unusable as there is a beep every few seconds when i am using it.

i tried the unit on other mac machines IMAC/macbook pro and it shows up correctly.

is it a hardware issue with the macbook or is this a known problem with a workaround? lexicon support is not replying my email and the lexicon forum is all but useless.

my macbook has a 2.1ghz core 2 duo intel and 3 GB ram. its been 2 fustrating days trying to find a solution to this problem. any help would be really appreciated.

i managed to get a response from Lexicon tech support.

the solution is to reinstall the whole OS X. basically erase the harddrive and reinstall snow leopard did the trick for me.

just adding the solution here for reference in case anyone gets this problem next time.
