Total newbie question, which is what I am.
Setting up a project studio, want to establish "stations", or whatever the term is, for headphones for multiple musicians. Want each headphone set to be adjustable in terms of the mix. Could someone walk me through the basic approach of how this is done? I know this is a variation of monitor mix for live shows, and I don't know how that is done either.
I have seen some proprietary systems (can't remember the name now) that are set up for this. I don't mind adjusting a mix from a control room, but I just can't figure out how to do it. Multiple mixing boards? what plugs into where? Do I need to worry about long runs of 1/4"
