Thanks for not laughing. I'm thinking of getting the iO Dock for my iPad2. I'm wondering if the preamps installed are really good, and whether I should consider adding something like the "Really Nice Preamp" or other preamp in order to improve the recording. Can this be done with the iO Dock?
Also, does anyone know how the interface stacks up in terms of being very good, average, entry level?
It would help if I told you what I want to do. I want to create recordings using the Native American Flute accompanied by acoustic guitar, both of which I play. Two instruments only, recorded separately. I'm looking for studio, CD recording quality. I will use a reasonably good microphone. I need to capture that full, rich sound of the Native American Flute. Right now I'm using my iPad as a "sketch pad" to experiment with different songs and arrangements. I will likely use Garage Band on a few songs, too.
