i recorded this song using an mxl 990 on the guitar placed right where the neck meets the body.

i also used two instrument mics place in fron of it on the xy thing..

i recorded the loop once then panned each of the instrument mics l and r then i got the mxl track and panned it to the left

i doubled the loop and panned the instrument mics l and r but the second time i panned the mxl track to the right..

first time trying out stereo guitar with the doubeling technique..

tell me what you think and what i can do to make it better..

its called left alone..

sorry its through myspace..

Sounds pretty phasey to me.
You shouldn't copy and paste the tracks.
Sometimes less is more.
Sounds a tad muddy also.

Also use www.lightningmp3.com
Myspace makes things sound even more phasey and muddy.

Test out different mic positions. By that I mean, still use the XY method but adjust the mics slightly. Really listen out for any strange phasing or muddyness.
Use new strings if you dont already have new strings on.
Last resort would be cut the low mids a tad around 290k(ish).
Sounds cleaner and more distinct.
Sounds better, what MP3 rate are you converting to?
Could you send a short sample at 320kbps, sounds like youve used 128kbps MP3 conversion.

Sounds nice.
Try zooming right in on the 2 guitar tracks and try and match them up so the waves look similar at the exact same time. Look for a cross over point and match the 2 waves up.
I'm not definite that there is phasing between the 2 tracks but I think I can hear something like that. I could be hearing things though. :)

Nice stuff.
