Live acoustic gig recordings!

I did a gig a while back (like in December) at a local casino. Played at the bar and grill - just me and my acoustic guitar. I recorded it (I think I posted a clip from it a few months ago), and I finally got around to mixing a few tracks.

Enjoy!! (these songs should stream)

Running To Stand Still - U2

Cumbersome - 7 Mary 3

Outside - Staind

Wonderwall - Oasis

Babylon - David Gray

That should do for now. I ended up with 32 tracks (and I didn't even record every song I did ). 'Bout half and half originals to covers, but I haven't got the mp3's of the originals yet.

So, if I were to put together a little demo for getting some solo acoustic gigs, should I use any of these?

Thanks for listening!

I just listened to a little bit of Babylon, and it sounded to me like you were peaking alot. Maybe try turning it down a little. I like the sound though.

Thanks! I think you might be right about the peaking. Maybe I'll try backing off a bit.

Any more listeners?

Outside and Babylon have sonic issues that are more readily noticeable than on the rest, but yeah, I'm hearing audible clipping, which is a shame.

You know, I think you'd be better off to do a "pseudo-live" recording. Record it in your house...live. Play them to a metronome and take the best of the individual takes. That's how most "live" cd's are put together anyway, no matter what the liner notes say, lol.

Hell, throw some polite applause in at the end if you want. BE THE MASTER OF YOUR DESTINY HERE!!!

The show business is all about appearances...help yourself anyway you can.

e.g. "Ok, so here are some recordings of me playing the Paladium...please ignore the huge crowd noise, I did the best I could to minimize the applause"

Good luck with your music, and post some originals...I'd be interested to hear them.
