So i'm making an album of covers with friends and co-workers on vocals. A co-worker chose this song for his girlfriend and he to sing. I was unfamiliar with the song and the band so it was a challenge and a nice discovery at the same time.

I've mixed this thing over and over and have lost my objectivity. The bum notes on the vocals are going to stay unless they decide to retrack, (i've asked but everyone is soooo busy) other than that I think the mix is sounding pretty good. Let me know what you think.

Recorded to pro tools with my mbox2.

Moi - N o W h e r e R a d i o . c o m

The song is called "The Bleeding Heart Show"

Thanks

First off, I hate nowhereradio.com. Between the 40 instances of "rebuffering stream" I think I got an idea what was going on.

If I were producing/mixing this song the place I would focus the most is the vocals. The acoustic guitar and piano sound good. Reverb is tastefully done and sounds good. Drums sound fine. Not sure I love the tone of the electric guitar, seems that could be better, just sounds kind of fizzy. They are also kind of quiet during the climax part of the song where they should come up some IMO.

Now for the vocals. Use a tuning program and get them in tune. The timing on the duet vocal parts is off in quite a few places. I'd fix that too. Then you'd have a pretty good recording on your hands.

Sorry for running you through the mill guitar zero, hehe. The girls part is already autotuned and the guys in a few spots but he didn't like the sound of it...I did experience a software issue and had to totally reassemble all the tracks using only a click track, I will have to go back and check more on this timing-whether it was them not singing together or me not getting the parts all nudged correctly I may never know. Guitars were recorded too hot and now that the faders have dropped the tone has kinda gone bye bye...I will keep your suggestions in mind as I remix this to try and get it to sound pretty good.

Not sure what the issue is with nowhere radio, I've never had any problems. Though you could have just downloaded the file.

Thanks for your time and comments.

Listened to 5 or so of your songs while I'm typing-very nice vocal production!

I wasn't saying to just autotune the vocals. Use a tuning program and manually shift the individual notes that are flat. That way it will be in tune, but won't sound like Cher.
