Have anyone use the Sound Blaster Live! Platinum for a home recording if so can you tell me how it works

SB Live is a great sound card for its price.
But I would say that you could not do better for a gaming card but you could do a lot better as a recording card.
SB Live Platinum has better ergonomic (it comes with a breakout slot) compared to the SB Live because you don't have to go behind and feel the butt of the computer to slot cables. To me its important because sometimes I am too lazy for these type of things.

I have the regular Live! and not the platinum. Don't really need the front mount
connectors since I use an external mixer. I'm just about finished with my first
CD project. It sounds quite well as far as noise and sound quality. I'm sure others
would disagree but I feel the card is unbeatable for the price. Just my input.....

Might be a little late here but, I've got the SBLIVE (original) card and have been using it for recording- sounds pretty good. I'm hooking up my Roland VS-1680 via coaxial digital and the sound quality really is pretty good. The Creative card is a good buy- yes you can do better but you'll be spending anywhere from $350-???? Some of the better ones I've seen are $600-$1,000.
