I'm not entirely sure which section this belongs in, but.....
Have any of you heard Pedro the Lion's new cd, Control?
Man, Dave Bazaan really learned how to play drums on this album. It's some really great songwriting too, a really well done concept and execution. The thing that bugs me about the album though, is...... I can only take so much distorted cymbals, you know? And while that in your face slightly fuzzed out drum sound works well on some tracks (like the amazing Magazine), it just gets tiring after a while.....
I don't know, what do you all feel about this? I mean, of those that have heard it... in case it matters, this album was recorded by him and another guy, and then they mixed it along with another guy.... Knowing the label it was released on (Jade Tree), it was probably a fairly small budget, so I guess you take what you can get.
