Which would be suitable(analogue or digital)for the following;
a TV broadcast console
a live concert PA mixer
a small project studio mixer
 
Unless a board has special connection for digital, there is no corelation on how to match the two. It all depends on your recorder choices. If you are comparing an ADAT (digital) to an MCI 2" 24 track analog recorder, I would go with the analog. Unless you have the $$$ to spend on high end analog gear, you will get better quality from digital at the lower price range.
 
Check out Mackie. They sell analog and digital. Prices start at around $350 US, and Mackie is very good stuff. A lot of professionals use the little 1202VLZ analog because it is easy to move around and yet sounds good.
