I wanted the mix in the last tune I did to reflect a better sound from desktop computer speakers and was looking at increasing the high end freq's so that there would be a little better clarity when it was encoded to mp3, so thats all my lazy butt did, is mix entirely though the cheap desktops. I finally walked over and switched on the amps for my monitors that are hung at about 5' and 10' apart 6' away, and played the piece though them. It damn near shaved me with high`s, and I had overdone the lows at around 250 so the room was being inside a bus engine. It sounded ok in the cheap speakers though. I guess the morrow is "check it in the nearfields and in the 'phones for unwanted peaks, noise, and such before...mixing it to the medium that you intended it for.
