high pass on aux sends

what's the consensus on EQ'ing reverb/chorus FXs? I used a high pass filter in front of a DSP-FX studioverb (direct-X) patch in cakewalk and it sounds pretty darn good. is this something that normally needs to be done with outboard reverb processors as well? the only outboard fx i've ever used was the alesis quadraverb.

also, what's your starting point for the high pass filter? i used 200hz, but i'm going to experiment around.

ps. this was used primarily for vocals

I think it can help in some situations to give you the good that the fx can add and minimze the potential bad.One prob w/ lots of fx is that you can lose clarity and impact.By cutting the lows on your vocal 'verb for example, you can make room for a more robust, puncht sound on the kick and bass guitar, and by trimming highs on guitar fx you can keep 'em out of the vocal's face.Cheers!
