Mastering Question

I have some completed WAV files ready for mastering. My question is this: when I send it to be mastered, should it be in 16 bit or 24 bit? thanks.
 
Farview is right assuming the original mix is 24 bit. If you mixed to an audio CD or other 16 bit medium it doesn't matter. Converting it to 24 bit in this case just pads the digital values with zeroes so you're not gaining anything as far as audio quality until you start processing again. Your ME can do this on his end when importing to a DAW or loading in via analog.
