i just finished my rap album and was gonna try to master it myself on protools but i would rather go with having fresh ears give a try. whats a good company with decent pricing for an 18 song album.

also how much free room should i leave on my mixes to get a good mastered track. right now i'm just making sure they dont peak.
 
As long as they don't peak - WITHOUT the use of excessive compression or limiting on the 2-buss, you're pretty much okay.

Perfect world? I'd love to have 4-6dB of headroom. But anything that doesn't clip (or wasn't *prevented* from clipping artifically) is fine.
