SP-404 - this is not a web page error code, it's a sampler :)

Taking the slow road

from the big picture it looks like it still a couple of banks on board and same way to access card banks w/ buttons next to them. this time there's 8 of them. Pads still light up, good, got an additional row of pads.

same mark button for start and end points. I wonder if it still takes forever to trim samples or delete. Don't know how that was for the 303, but 202 is very sloooow.

I want the manual to DL, but it's not up yet :(

I'm looking at a used 606 for around the same price as this new $400, so far....need to decide soon, but w/ batteries and having owned a similar one before and the cf card, i already have some, and the nice amount of time, the nice small size, well....

that namm boot video (if it's the same as the one on the Roland site...I can't look because I'm at work right now) isn't really all that informative, is it now?

The 404 is basically a 303 with 1 gig compactflash running on 6 AA batteries... I'm actually trying to sell something else right now so I can cop one when it comes out .beats on the train...beats when I come home from college @ weekends...since my stuff won't be at my parent's house anymore...

that's some hot shit!

It's way more advanced than the others. It's back to batteries like the 202, 303 didn't have that option.

I saw the guy in the vid do something called beat sample? He took a chunk of what was playing, it looked like he was able to resample it into a scratch pad or something and he was scratching with that part, and i think the rest of the sample was still playing, he didn't have to stop it, that would be very cool.

hmmm I've jsut sold my DJ-70 and can get a 303 pretty cheap...

So I'm gonna go with that...404 is still hot though!

my sp-202 is rotten. I don't know if i'll take another chance on this.

Nice amount of time and import of wave files is good tho.

Gonna have to wait a while, probably a couple of months, it's too new....

I might have a 606 before then

Hey! I just posted a ad wanting a 202. Are you wanting to get rid of it. I'll buy or trade a digital recorder for it.

I never got email from this thread so I didn't see your post until now...

Let me check my 202 out first, not sure if it's ok, haven't used it in a long time.
