Right now I record with a labtec headset microphone, in a basement with loud pipes on an OK PC...my mixing techniques are above average so my sound isnt HORRIBLE..but...it isnt NEAR as good as it really should be..

Cool Edit Pro 2 is my program of choice..im best with it so I'm probably going to stick with it..

I do hiphop music so the sole purpose is upping my vocal quality and eliminating as much unneeded sound as possible..

this is what im contemplating buying considering my budget...
Behringer B-1 Condenser Microphone - 99.99

Pinnacle MIS30 Tripod Mic Boom Stand - 26.99

M Audio Audio Buddy Preamp/Audio Interface - 99.99

Samson RH600 Headphones - 49.99

IF you could, let me know what else I should look at..what I should replace..what I should add and any other advice you might have..

thanks,

I don't get why you ask for advice and then pretty much ignore it.

I'd look at another mic depending on what you'll be recording. Allthough the B1 is supposed to be a great workhorse, I haven't heard a lot of praise being said for it on vocals. I'd say get an SM57 over a B1 if you're just going for vocals.

Also look at the cheap MXL stuff, like the V67G.

Oh, and what are you using to get this onto the PC? If it's a soundblaster, look to upgrade your A/D to an Audiophile or something better. That will cut down on the noise a lot.
