I just picked up a TASCAM DP-004 and tried recording tonight and the WAV files that I exported to my PC all have a skip about every 8 seconds. The recorded signal pretty much cuts completely out for a split second on every skip. The recordings are useless.
ADDITIONAL:
I reviewed the tracks on the DP-004 unit and the original tracks do not have the skipping. The skips appear on the WAV files that I EXPORT to my PC. So I am guessing that either the EXPORT process or transfer to PC might be introducing this.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
I just figured it out.
The skipping is from the Player that I was using on my PC - VLC Media Player. I guess it does not play WAV files properly. I opened the WAV with Windows Media Player and it is fine.
