Recording Vocals (Speaking) with a PC

Hello, all,

I'm not new to computers but definitely new
to recording (with a PC or otherwise). I need
to record a music show that will ultimately
end up in RealAudio format. I'm fairly clear
on how I'm going to get the music there but
I'm feeling a bit clueless about how to
record my voice (announcing the tracks, etc).

I am just starting, so I'm totally open to
purchasing a new/better sound card (I'm
kind of leaning towards the Montego II HOME STUDIO card/software -- any feedback about
this?) but I have no idea what kind of mic
and cable to get.

Suggestions?
