Recording vocals - Good effects 4 vocals?

    Hi,

I am wondering what effects to use on the vocals, more specifically RnB.

I have FL Studio 7, Cakewalk and Adobe Audition.

What settings, effects, etc? At the moment all I use is reverb, cuz it sounds good when beat boxing and stuff.

    Thanks

There was a good thread recently about a vocal effect, where by you pitch shift 2 copies up and down 0.12 semitones, and pan them hard left and right respectively. Sounded good.

I use delay on vocals if I can. Just a subtle amount quietly will give you a nice effect. Maybe try setting it to 1/4 beats and move it around until it sounds right.

You could always try recording the vocals more than once and harmonise with yourself? You dont have to do it all the way through, just to emphasise various parts.

    Compression. Massive amounts of compression.

Every vocal track will dictate a different technique... There is no one 'silver bullet' vocal effect...

Oh... Except this one of course...
