Alright, so I bought a Tascam US-144mkII on sale. It seems to be insanely hard to set up (either that or I'm stupid or something). I have a keyboard hooked up to it, two mics, and a guitar. Mics are using phantom power, guitar is plugged into the "guitar line in". I've tried setting this interface up with cubase, ableton, sony acid, calkwalk, and cant get any to work. Cubase and ableton seem to be the ones that work most though.
Can somebody please tell me the EXACT settings (write it as though you're speaking to a child who doesn't even get what recording is) to use for this interface in either Cubase or Ableton? I was hoping to find recording an enjoyable hobby... So far it's just been extremely frustrating and seems far to complex (is it too much to ask for a track splitter, a record button, and track layering and ONLY that for us noobs?)
