Echo Indigo and integrated sound card...???

guys i just got my LAPTOP from GATEWAY and i wanted to connect my ECHO to it but i know my computer has an integrated sound card what do i do now? I have to bo to bios and turn it of there?? what if there is no function like that there?? Then do it in windows? but how?? Thanks
 
Control panel\Sound and Audio Devices .... click the Audio tab and select the Echo for the given options. You may also want to select it under the Voice tab as well.
 
Right .... that's where you tell windows which audio device to use.
You can also go to the Device manager and disable integrated soundcard. This way it doesn't use an IRQ.
Expand the list for Sound, video and game controllers ... then right click on the listing for the internal audio device and select disable.
Of course if you can find an option in the BIOS, disable it that way.
