Hi all!
I am taking a mixing class this semester and decided to use that as an excuse to get a control surface so I can quit freaking mousing mixes (I'm so tired of using the mouse for mixing). Plus the MCU Pro came out which drove the older units (that apparently have NO upgrades to them other than cosmetics and 3x the price... sheesh...) down into the $400 range used, which is quite nice.
The Mackie HUIs are about the same price now (with an original tag at about $3k!) and seem to be very nice. I love the fact they have meters on them. Hate the fact they're not expandable like the MCU.
What do you guys think? They're both "outdated" at this point but still indirectly supported (the HUI kind of started all this stuff). Again, I love the meters of the HUI not to mention it has some monitoring features built in. Its also larger and not expandable.
Any thoughts?
