I posted this in the Tascam forum, but alas, no response. Maybe someone here could help me.
To keep it short, the take up spool does not move when I press play (it just started doing this earlier tonight) but it does move when I press fast forward. Another thing to mention is that the capstan and pinch roller does move.
This caused the machine to mangle my very expensive tape
So, is there anything I can do other than sell it for parts on ebay (I really don't want to because I love the sound of this recorder)?
