Hello all,

I need some advice. My recording set up right now is a Tascam Ms16 with a Ramsa Wr820 board.
I have came to the conclusion I need to buy a compressor. I am looking at a Urei La4. This unit does not have xlr
connections. It has these screws to connect wires to. I would like to use the compressor for mainly voice and whatever else it sounds good with. My question is... how can I hook it up to my mixer? I'd like to record the compression to the tape while tracking the voice...but Id also like to be able to select various tracks to compress to experiment with the sound. My mixer is very versatile but I am not so knowledgeable on how to hook hardware up.

I'd have to look a lot harder than I'd care to in order to give much useful advice, but you're going to end up hacking a mic cable in half and figuring out which of the wires inside go to which terminal on the compressor. I'm pretty sure that google can help you figure out which goes where.

Yeah, basically, you'll need to end up doing something like this:

Cheers! :)
