First post here. Great forum. I have a tascam 246 - I'm the original owner. It sat in the closet for a decade. I had it cleaned and the belts replaced. Now the roller is bad and eats tape. Don't want to spend any more $ repairing it. What I would like to do is use it as a mixer to record into reaper until I learn more about computer recording. I've made some great demos in the past but I don't know how to use it other than as a recorder.
Can somebody tell me how to use it just as a mixer? I know I'm ignorant....but I hate to just toss it out. I'm thinking the mic pres on it are probably better or at least as good as the newer ones.
