I have purchased a unit which is american

can i simply use a US to UK converter plug or would it need a professional to convert it to UK voltage?

thanks

you need to get a transformer to convert US 110V to UK 230V.

unless of course the unit states that it can support 110V-240V..(which is not that often the case)

ive bought a hhb fatman
im also looking to buy some mic pre's
everything is so much cheaper in the US!!

Converter 3 if anything... although you might want to check a building supply company for one of these. All power tools at a professional work site (in the UK) must be 110 volt, so they sell fairly high wattage converters for a decent price... You'll want to run all of the 110 stuff on one voltage source to reduce the possiblity of ground loops and such between devices

I bought a multitrack recorder from the US (I live in Europe). If you can find an adaptor that matches the specs of your equipment you might not need a voltage converter, just replace the "old" adaptor for a new one.

Like, instead of a 12v/120v I used a 12v/220 adaptor, but i contacted fostex first to check. Make sure the - + are on the right side.

If this is cheaper...might be easier to get as well...
