Wireless Tie-clips (Lavaliere ?) Mics

I need to record a bunch of lectures for work (male spoken voice) and I was wondering about peoples experiences with wireless tie-clip mics ?

I don't mind spending what needs to be spent to get a nice recording.

I was thinking about one of these:

or

http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=UX16-BP&CID=WIR
with http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=UXLP&CID=WIR

Any thoughts ?

I will be recording at 44.1 / 24 bit using my powerbook hooked up to a MOTU 828 mk II as Im going to be in quite a noisy environment (air handlers / student chatter etc).

Thanks

Simon

I've got a sennheiser radio lavaliere mic & it's fantastic, I'm not 100% sure of the cost but it's good for spoken voice

& double bass..............I recently discovered

S :D

Cool !

I'm quite tempted by the Carvin one as it will also double as a wireless guitar connection. Saying that I have used Sennheiser tie mics before and they were great !

Dr_simon,

I work broadcast videography, and we use Sony lavs virtually exclusively. Sennheiser is an excellent brand; if you feel like it, check out the Sonys; they are rugged and sound good.

Best,
CC.
