SP C1 vs. SP B1

on a budget the b-1 is general purpose. the c-1 is kinda limited and couldnt find a use for. i sold my c-1 and my pair of b-1s after a year. for just a little more i was sold on the audio technica mics. for me i could afford a little more. the other thing that got me thinking was you tend to find them in mic lockers of alot of studios so i had to see for myself . i now have a pair of 4040-s and a 4047. it is a nice difference. i figure it will hold me over for a while.

i use the b1 on electric guitar every now and then, its excellent for when the guitar needs more "air" than a dynamic (ska, jazz, slow boring annoying blues). i'm a big fan of the b1 on bass cabs and room mic duties aswell.

i haven't used a c1 before so i am a little unqualified here, but my feelings were that the c1 was a "coloured" sorta vocal mic, and the b1 was a "neutral" kinda all round mic.
