Gibson says 10's are the minimum recommended string guage

I have always used 9s on my USA Hamers and gibsons, you could also try skinny top heavy bottoms by ernie ball.

The skinny top, heavy bottoms xcracer is talking about are my favorites. Use 'em on all my guitars.
It's gives me that REAL thick bottom end for my chords, and the lighter strings for bending and such when doing leads.

So, to keep this going, what would you guys use on a strat clone and intending to drop tune (Drop C - as in fully dropped to D and the 6th down to C)
