Care and Feeding of my New Mistress

I've been playing guitar for about 10 years, and got my first bass this week (a late 90s Washburn custom shop xb900PJ). I am fairly knowledgable about how to transport and care for my guitars, but I am wondering if there are any significant differences for bass. Are there different procedures for restringing, transporting, etc?

Not that I can think of. Keep in mind you need to change the strings; they don't break very often, and they don't SEEM that grimy, so you have to remember to do it on your own.
