I'm new to the NYC area and it's time to get a 2" 24 track machine. Ampex MM1200, MCI JH24, Otari MX90 or MTR, or an older Studer model (I'm SURE the 800 series is out of my price range). Anyone know of good shops/brokers/listings for them in NYC? I don't want to deal with shipping long distance so I prefer to buy in the area. I also want to get a head report and have it checked out by a tech before I buy.
Can anyone give me a hand?
