When using the Recto Preamp with my Ibanez smash box connected to the send/return fx jack, the built in noise gate on the pedal seems to malfunction by adding extra noise rather then taking it away. This problem can be avoided by not using the send fx plugs and instead connected the pedal between the preamp and the soundcard. However the sound isn't as desireable as when connected using the send/return fx. Any ideas why the pedal may malfunction when connected this way?
