Your Very First - Let's See It!

There's a recording - it's pretty sucky. Pair of TX-7's (module equivalent of a DX-7) and an RX-11 drum machine into a Hitachi consumer grade tape deck. Plus my so-called voice through an AT knock off of a 58. Crappy FM string bass is super heavy, probably due to the medium. On the solo, I switch from piano to synth harmonica, so no chords. I arranged it so I could add Prophet-5 when I was singing, but I was short a cable, so no Prophet. Vocs on one side, everything else on the other.

Oh, the humanity!!!

:D

first song... kinda kid rebellion type thing (2000)

sittin on top of the world
lookin down on whats to see
everything im wondering
just how easy it would be

everything you do
someone always trys to do better than you
theres nothing that you can do
except sit back and watch them laugh at you

what i'd be like to breathe
what i'd be like to believe
i dont know why
but here we go again

everything you do
someone always trys to do better than you
theres nothing that you can do
except sit back and watch them laugh at you

**********************************************

newest song

take a breathe and drink to life
be thankful for every night
spent together with your friends
their with you until your glorious end

and its so hard to let you go
i wish that i, that i could show

your everystep that was never taken
every move, you could never make
but we've got memories from a thousand places
now you head towards your citidel

and when im in my darkest hour
i'll look back on the fight you gave
use the courage you made so strong
my soul you did save

i remember the smile always on your face
it always seemed so, so in place

your everystep that was never taken
every move, you could never make
but we've got memories from a thousand places
now you head towards your citidel

and the pregnant pause before its over
is where we find the good again

your everystep that was never taken
every move, you could never make
but we've got memories from a thousand places
now you head towards your citidel

Don't remember my first song

I don't remember my first song; but I clearly remember my first song to impress a lady. I was seventeen in the middle sixties. I played this song to a neighbor whose husband had left her. She told me I had written her story in my song. She was in her early twenties and quite beautiful; her ex was an a**hole. I guess the following months were somewhat illegal, since she was an adult and I was a minor; but I won't be pressing charges. It was a memorable summer.

Memories and Dreams

V1
Can't sleep tonight
Thinking of you
And the memories of everything we used to do
And all of the love
That once was so true
Now only memories and dreams

chorus
Memories and Dreams
Memories and Dreams
Hellos and goodbyes and tender love scenes
And all of the nice things that come in between
Now only memories and dreams

v2
When I close my eyes
You're here with me
And then everything's just the way it used to be
And as I fall asleep
We kiss tenderly
Here in my memories and dreams

v3
Maybe someday
I'll say goodbye
To the dreams and the memories that I keep inside
But they're all I have
So for now I will try
To live in my memories and dreams

repeat chorus
Memories and Dreams
Memories and Dreams
Hellos and goodbyes and tender love scenes
And all of the nice things that come in between
Now only memories and dreams

My first song was written for my wife - I think about '96 after our son was born. 'Your the One I Love' -

You're the one I love
Always been that way
The one I'm workin' for when I wake up
The kiss that ends the day

Yea, you're the one I love
A masterpiece of care
An earth-bound angel with a heart of gold
Long black curly hair

Chorus
Let me stay with you
Words come wrong, or never at all
A sad attempt of telling you
You're the one I love

You're the one I love
A conscience whispering
A patient ear for my high-strung chord
You do my listening

Girl, you're the one I love
I guess I'll say it once more
Not many people get a song their own
Hope this helps settle the score

Chorus
I want to stay with you
Words come wrong, or never at all
A sorry attempt at telling you
You're the one I love
You're the one I love
You're the one I love
The only girl I love

(kind of sappy!)

I just wrote this goofy little number!
'There's A Work Stoppage in Chicago'

There's a work stoppage in Chicago
The factories all have been stalled
The lawyers are all through lawyerin
The bankers have locked up the vaults

They've locked up the Shedd Aquarium
Now the Cubs draw the same as the Sox
There's a work stoppage here in Chicago
All your greenbacks may as well be rocks

Now I'm a Union man to the core
But this is goin' a little too far
The cops sit around eatin' donuts
Father Loftus drinks all day at the bar
The mailmen have taken to looting
the firemen just stare at the fires
And the tollways are ghost town empty
'Cause of an absence of gas for the cars

Mayor Daley proclaimed - "This is NUTS! (I really mean it)"
"There must be some kind of deal to be struck"
"Someone's back must need scratching"
"Must be someone's kid needs a job!?"

But there were no jobs to be needin'
And eventually he got the drift
There's a work stoppage here in Chicago
(the Mayor isn't all that swift)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think I improved! :lol

Holy shit my writing used to suck!

Happy Installment

Grass covers the dirt,
4am, noone's hurt
Good cause I almost fell asleep
I need my rest for my memories to insert

It doesn't seem to get different
Same old job every day
Tie these beasts up into their messy little cage
Make sure it's tight cause that's where there gonna stay
One climbs out onto the middle of the stage
Everybody else that gets in his way
He pushes them aside with his rage

But do you know this old retired man
He used to do his job, spit into his can
Now he's off on his own sitting in another chair
During his night shifts oh you should've seen how he ran

I took this man's place
Now I'm rightfully in charge
None of these animals ever listen
Too tied up, and their minds too large
I'll try and forget what i want to be missing
But it burns my soul deep down to the barge
Leaving this place has been what Im wishing

Walked by a guy who had a glass
Shaking it around, asking for some cash
I put in a tiny nickel and it was the only one
Then this guy pulled from his pocket and traded me for some fun

Yeah I took this job just to relax
But it's bad cause you got to wake up real fast
It's the least I was expecting but what else am I gonna do
My time here has passed and all I got is you
Oh
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah............
Just sitting watching the people walking by
Yeah yeah
Watching this creature deep down in the eye
He glances back then claws me down to the ground
My time here has ended so I might as well be found
Yeah........!!!!!!!!
Yeah, yeah yeah
Ohhhhhh, ohhhhhh

Just curious about the music style... RAP? -- the rhyme kinda has that rap or hip-hop feel to it....
