I wrote this song to/ about my as yet to be born child when, early in the pregnancy, doctors told my wife and I that the her body was trying to miscarry the baby.
That's enuff to piss anybody off and being a person of faith, this is what came out later that night after thinking and praying about the situation.
Anyway, it's called "holding onto that heartbeat" since that's what I remembered the most about that visit to the doctor's office, the strong heartbeat on the monitor. It's whart I heard the loudest amidst all the words and bullcrap the doc was telling us. the heart beat.
