Rode NT2A for vocals and sax?

Depends on the sax.

Wouldn't use it on a bari
I prefer dynamics (MD-421 or EV RE-20) on my tenor.
An LDC like that would go good on an alto or soprano.

(You wouldn't mic Barry White and Michael Jackson
with the same mic - same with saxes and their ranges...)

It's for an alto sax (and also a male vocalist with a fairly deep voice.)
 
Check my H S B link below - the vocalist used a NT2-A. The sound is clear and crisp with no proximity effect. EQ to taste. You should be able to handle the SPL with the sax - try it and see if you like it.
 
I use one on vocals a lot, especially backing vox. Haven't had occasion for using it on sax, I always use a dynamic for that.
