Recording drums - bass drum SO QUIET in my IEM

Is the main issue the IEM level or the record level?

The iem level was out of whack because of the gain setting on the interface (ie. Recording level)

I'm going to go in tonight and get them to the proper levels in my DAW, then see if I can tweak my personal mix at that point to give me the level I desire. I don't necessarily need to cut through the tracks I'm jamming out with, I was mostly losing the bass drum in the rest of the kit. With a D6, kevlar patch and the right beater, I definitely get plenty of cutting attack.
